The statue of liberty was designed in Paris by French sculptor Frederic Bartholdi, in collaboration with French engineer Gustave Eiffel who had run the framework. She arrived in New york Harbor in June 1885 aboard the French frigate « Isere » which transported the statue from France to the United States. The statue was re-assembled on her new pedestal in four month. The statue of Liberty was completed in 1886, the statue a present fron France to the USA for the centenary of the independence of the United States.
